User Guide

Everything you need to know about MiniMax Converter.

Learn the basics of using MiniMax Converter.

1Drag and drop one or more files onto the application window.
2Choose an action: Convert to change file formats, or Compress to create an archive.
3Select your target format from the available options.
4Adjust quality settings if needed, then start the conversion.
5Once complete, choose to keep or delete the original files.

Create and extract archives in various formats.

Supported formats: ZIP, 7Z, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, RAR, ISO, BIN/CUE, MDF, split volumes (.001), DEB, RPM, and more.

Create Select files and choose Compress to create ZIP, 7Z, TAR.GZ, TAR.ZST or TAR.XZ archives — or master an ISO or BIN/CUE disc image. Archives can be split into equal-size volumes and are verified after creation.
Extract Drop any archive file to extract its contents — including split archives (drop the .001 part). Extraction shows the current file, a live percentage, and can be cancelled.
Encrypt Password-protect your archives. 7Z also supports filename encryption.
Mount Drop an ISO, BIN/CUE or MDF image and choose Mount to browse it as a read-only virtual drive — no administrator rights needed. Eject it from your file manager when done.

Real-time speech-to-text from your microphone, your system audio (meetings, videos) or both — offline Whisper AI, 99 languages, nothing uploaded.

Dictate Tap Space or F9 to start and stop; each take appends to the text, so you can think, pause and continue.
Translate Right-click the transcript to translate it into any of 16 languages, entirely on-device.
Save Save as TXT, SRT or VTT, and optionally keep the session audio as MP3, FLAC or WAV.

Rip audio CDs and burn discs from Tools → Discs — no extra burning software needed.

Rip Rip Audio CD: names, album, year, genre and cover art fill in automatically; rip to FLAC, MP3, Opus and more, with error correction for scratched discs and ripping from .bin/.cue or .iso images.
Burn Burn Disc: audio CDs (gapless, CD-Text), data discs up to 100 GB BD-XL, mixed CDs and disc images — capacity and write speeds detected from the disc, verification after burning.
Erase Rewritables get quick or full erasing plus a Privacy blank that overwrites the whole disc; the image recorder saves the burn as .iso or .bin/.cue instead.

Name unknown audio files by how they sound — acoustic fingerprints matched against the AcoustID database fill in artist, title, album, year, genre and cover art.

Review You review every match with its confidence score before anything is written; files are renamed to Artist - Title.
Privacy Only compact acoustic fingerprints are sent — never the audio itself.

Capture part of the screen and the text in it is recognized offline and copied to the clipboard — copy and paste text from images, videos, PDFs and anything else you can see.

Select The screenshot stays selectable: drag across words to copy just that part; double-click picks one word; right-click sends the text to other tools.
QR QR codes are decoded automatically, and the text saves as TXT, PDF or DOCX — or keep the snip as an image.

Clone a voice from a short recording and make it speak any text you type - fully offline. Record about 20 seconds in the app (a live level meter shows your volume) or drop in an existing audio file, then press Preview to listen before saving.

Tiers Four quality tiers: Fast runs on every machine and speaks 15 languages (it can also convert an existing recording to the cloned voice); Good adds 23 languages and works even without a graphics card; Medium and High give the most natural speech with NVIDIA or Apple Silicon acceleration.
Download The higher tiers fetch their voice engine once on first use - after that everything runs on your computer with nothing sent online.

Help → Check for Updates downloads, verifies and installs new versions in place; a startup check can be enabled in Settings.

Logs Settings → Defaults → Logs keeps daily anonymized activity logs on your computer — when something fails, the error dialog points you there.
